Set Up Your First Rotation: A Quick Start Guide

First Rotation Quickstart Featured

You just downloaded Volleyball Rotations and you’re staring at a demo team called, well, “Volleyball Rotations.” Here’s the good news: getting your own team on the court takes two steps and about a minute. No blank-slate panic, no manual entry from scratch. Here’s exactly how I set up a new team.

Step 1: Name your rotation and pick your system

Tap the rotation picker in the top bar, the layered-squares icon on the left. That opens Select a Rotation. Tap Add Rotation, give your team a name, and pick the system you actually run: 5-1, 6-2, 6-2 without a libero, 6-3, 6-6, or a blank “Create my own” if none of those fit. Tap Add.

Name it, pick your system, tap Add. That’s the entire setup screen.

Step 2: Fill in your roster

Add takes you straight to Update Roster, already built for the system you picked. Every starting spot is pre-tagged with a position, OH, MB, S, OPP, LIB, and a placeholder jersey number. You’re not building a roster from nothing, you’re just replacing names. Tap into each row and swap the placeholder for a real player.

Jersey numbers are optional, but worth entering. They show in front of the name on the court, in substitution messages, on the lineup sheet, and on printouts. Positions are optional too, but they power the Bench panel during Take Stats and get suggested automatically if you use Update Lineup later. Need more players than the template gives you? Tap Add Player for subs. Tap Done when you’re finished.

Numbers and positions already carry over from the template. Just rename each row.

Step 3: You’re live on the court

Tap Done and you’re back on the court, already lined up in a proper rotation 1 for the system you chose. Real names, real numbers, correct positions. Use Rotate and Back along the bottom to step through all six rotations any time you want to check who’s where.

A couple things worth knowing

That’s the whole setup. Once your team is on the court, you’re ready to build lineups for every rotation, and when it’s game time, track live stats and find your weakest rotation before the other team does.
